SunShine: Why fashion? What’s the one thing that makes you love it every day?
Style Pantry: Because fashion provides us with the foundation to create our individual styles. I love dressing up. I love colors. I love mixing patterns, I love creating looks. I love the expressions. I love admiring other people’s style.
SunShine: Have you coined your style? When people see it on busy subways, classrooms, and boardrooms how will they know it’s Style Pantry?
Style Pantry: Not sure if I have coined my style. I hope I never do, because that gets boring. One thing is for sure, however, My outfits are always colorful and busy. As mentioned earlier, I love mixing unlikely patterns and playing with colors.
SunShine: What are your goals and aspirations for StylePantry.com? Are you there?
Style Pantry: You know, I take Style Pantry one day at a time. I don’t like to set goals, expectations, or plan. I am not in control. I am happy with how far Style Pantry has come. I am especially thankful to the wonderful readers for their daily check-ins and support. Without them, there’s no Style Pantry.
SunShine: Do you have a favorite “go-to” piece in your closet? What makes it special?
Style Pantry:My favorite “go-to” piece in my closet is a toss between caftans & denim shirts. I collect both. I live in California where the sun never constantly shines, my airy, colorful caftans are perfect and easy to accessorize. I’m also a sucker for denim shirts. I wear with different color jeans, maxi skirts, over ball gowns, with short shorts, short skirts – I mean.. endless possibilities.
SunShine: I love that you do not conform to what you are supposed to wear when. Does this also define who you are as a person?
Style Pantry: When it comes to fashion/style, I don’t abide by rules. In fact, they don’t exist. In my personal life? The only rule I really believe in is to “work hard and be nice to everyone”.
SunShine: What or who is your style influenced by?
Style Pantry: My style is influenced by my surrounding, not a person.
SunShine: How do you make magic happen? You walk to your closet…then what happens?
Style Pantry: “Magic”? That’s funny. You make me laugh. Let’s see, I think the first thing I think about is color. I think about a color combination in my head and expand from there.

SunShine: How do you feel about the plethora of people who are digging your style?
Style Pantry:
Words cannot express it. It is beyond me. I am completely grateful, appreciative and inspired by the love and support. I try to “pay it forward”.
SunShine: Pink or Green? Plaid or Stripes? Sheer or Matte?
Style Pantry:
I love them all. We shouldn’t have to choose

SunShine: Who is the beauty behind Style Pantry?
Style Pantry:
My family is everything to me. My 3 kids, husband, sisters, brother, parents, cousin. I’m a family girl. Also, it may sound corny, but I laughing warms up my soul. I love to laugh and make others laugh.
SunShine’s Reflection: Let me first begin by saying that my natural hair journey has made me more aware of my style. I have always known that what I may pull off a rack may make others cringe, but it made me real bubbly and happy inside. My friend Lutricia would said “Um, NO!” when I would hold up a floral print. Inside, I just had to have it. What intrigues me the most about SP, other than she’s not a model, is her ability to “do her” and move fashion forward at the same time. Now, I’m no Tim Gunn! However, I do know “greatness” when I see it! One idea that SP and I both share is that there are “endless possibilities”. Funny, I say this to curls about their hair all the time! It makes sense to transfer this over to the art you create with the wardrobe and accessories on your body.
