Fashion Week: A Review

Fashion week

Hi curly girls,

It has begun. In New York, fashion moguls and titans come together to produce and showcase bizarre, far fetched and some of the most outlandish ideas that we find ourselves irresistibly pulled to. It was once said “fashion is most absurd in trying times”. It’s fashion week.

Since Adam secured Eve’s first mink, we have dressed ourselves to reflect first our titles, then our personalities. Just look around you. Each social class and subgroup adorns themselves to reflect the class they most identify with.

Fashion is our most frequented form of expression. And we crave change. We pay top dollar to be the first, to secure the “latest” which is usually the pieces that make others stop and think or best of all stare. Fashion tells on lookers “I belong (or dont) to this subgroup”.

So what’s all the hoopla? Most would never wear the outlandish ideas strutted down the runway. Most wouldn’t traspe into the office with a tutu over our suits, but a ballerina styled loafer would suit just well, and comfortably at that! The point is to inspire, to consider a concept and how that concept could be formed to serve a function.

All in all, have fun with fashion. Get inspired and always take time to enjoy the show.

Ciao for now,
