self-affirmation-statements-image-29

I can’t believe how many of you have committed to Getting Healthy this month! I’m so excited to be joining you on this journey!

Week 1 is the easiest week because we are very motivated and pumped. I want us to keep up the momentum throughout this entire month. Your daily affirmations are crucial, because when you think you can’t — YOU CAN!

We are going to have a blast and I am so looking forward to reading all of your check in entries. Be sure to encourage each other by commenting on each others comments.

Check In Questions

1. JUICE  – Are your green juice/smoothie recipes going to be fruit dominant or veggie dominant? Share the main ingredients you will use or used.

2. MOVE -Do you work out to music? What are favorite tunes? If not music, what do you do to keep yourself in the zone while you work out?

3. AFFIRM – Reflect on this statement

“I am open and available to the infinite possibilities of the universe. My life is an extraordinary adventure”. – By Dr. Darren R. Weissman

In addition to the check in questions, you can com here and check in as often as you want. Feel free to share anything on your mind. Something you are excited to share. Suggestions: Something new you tried. The  calories you burned in the gym. The miles you ran/walked. The cheeseburger/pizza/fried chicken/cake you turned down. The pant size you dropped to. The pounds you lost.  Share anything you want!

SunShine’s Check In Report:

1. JUICE  – Are your green juice/smoothie recipes going to be fruit dominant or veggie dominant? Share the main ingredients you will use or used.

Hmmmm I guess they are dominate with fruits because I get the veggie from the VEGA and the Spinach or Kale I’m using.

2. MOVE -Do you work out to music? What are favorite tunes? If not music, what do you do to keep yourself in the zone while you work out?

I only work out to music if I’m walking or running the neighborhood. I just listen to what ever is in my phone like Sean Ray, Trey Songz, OnCue, BoyzIIMen, Brandy, Keyshia Coles, etc. Usually I listen to my workout tape at home.

3. “I am open and available to the infinite possibilities of the universe. My life is an extraordinary adventure”. – By Dr. Darren R. Weissman

This quote is telling me to be ready and available to try anything, to think outside the box or evern create that box.

I’m getting off to a slow start this morning. I went to bed late and therefore am getting up late too. I don’t usually workout in the morning because I have such a busy day. However, I will get the smoothie in, that’s a must! Today I’m feeling a bit anxious because I have to get my home prepared before leaving to go to NYC for the Chic N’ Kinky and KinkyCurlyCoilyMe events. I have to sew, clean the home, spend time with the husband, and be sure the boys are situated. Somewhere in there will be some me time!

xoxo

    1. JUICE – Are your green juice/smoothie recipes going to be fruit dominant or veggie dominant? Share the main ingredients you will use or used.

My smoothie will be fruit dominant my two favorite recipes are: 2 nice chunks of pineapple, mango, juice of a lemon, 1 cup of coconut water, handful of spinach and if I need more water I will add. My next favorite is: coconut water, strawberries frozen, blueberries frozen, a banana and handful spinach.

    2. MOVE -Do you work out to music? What are favorite tunes? If not music, what do you do to keep yourself in the zone while you work out?

Yes, I will be working out to music. I love the old stuff like En Vogue and some
Rihanna and a lot of other things.

    3. AFFIRM – Reflect on this statement

My life is open for change and I will accept all the possibilities that life has to offer.

Hey Tamara! Sounds like you are off to a great start! I just bought a Mango that needs to ripen. I can’t wait to try it in my smoothie. It doesn’t sound like you are adding any protein to your smoothies. May I suggest VEGA? It’s all natural, gluten and dairy free and is packed with protein and veggies. I get mine from Whole Foods, but you can order it cheaper online at other retailers. If you did add protein your smoothie would become a meal replacement! That’s in fact if you wanted it to. I may need to ad some EnVogue to my playlist. You know how I love waybacks! xoxo

    1) My green smoothies will be fruit dominated but I plan to try some veggie dominated smoothies at least one day a week. My main ingredients will be strawberries, apples, banana, and spinach, and ground flaxseed. For now I will use soy or almond milk and vanilla whey protein. I shopped around for the VEGA and due to the quantity and price I’d rather try a sample first.
    2) I workout to whatever music is playing on my workout DVDs. If I walk outside, on the treadmill, or use the elliptical I listen to a workout jamz playlist I created on my iPhone.
    3) What I get from the quote is to be willing to try new things and view everything as part of life’s adventure.
